I see in some places that Tiki collectors have Pirates of the Caribbean movie stuff in their collection but is it really Tiki? 🏴☠️ I thought Tiki with a capital T was more about Polynesian stuff? 🗿
I voted "No" for the reason you mentioned, that "Tiki" is typically Polynesian related. The "Tiki Drinks" crowd of course loves their Caribbean rum but, aside from that, I don't see the connection between PoC and "Tiki".
Weeeeelllllll, POC is set in about 1730, and Captain Cook didn’t go to Hawaii until c. 1770, so can we call it pre-Tiki? (Not really, I’m just causing trouble)
I like nautical stuff with my tiki, so the Pirates film doesn’t bother me that much
