Hey y'all! Thank you for having me.
I see no ones posted anything on here since last year, and I get it. Life is busy. That said, I have a sinking suspicion that many of us are spending that time on Reddit or Facebook as I did. Personally, the drain I get from being on the social media giants heavily outweighs any benefits that I tell myself I'm getting from being on there, so I've deleted both. But now I'm cut off from a lot of tiki conversation online.
No problem. If I'm going to be populating a site with content/posts I'd rather it be a smaller, dedicated site like this.
Anyways, a little about me-
I got into exotica music and tiki after playing in a surf band in North Carolina that would occasionally play tiki pop-ups. I'm in my 20s, now live in Colorado, and am trying to take advantage of all the tiki restaurants out here while I can! Besides that, I'm straight edge, love getting tattoos, and some of my favorite musical artists are The Birthday Party, JG Thirlwell, and Skinny Puppy. My favorite exotica artist is Robert Drasnin.
Coming across Tiki with Ray's 'Tiki Goth' videos on Youtube emboldened me to be more proactive in my communities, as tiki and goth are the two subcultures I actively participate in and it was great to see others sharing similar interests.
